New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards - Young Engineer of the Year Finalists
September 2008
The New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards’ Young Engineer of the Year sponsored by Rob Law Maxrecruitment is always hotly contested. The quality of entrants continues to impress the judging panel each year and the fight for the coveted finalist position sparks lots of debate around the judging table.
The New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards Young Engineer of the Year finalists for 2008 are Sue Carter (Connell Wagner), Toby Collet (Inro Technologies Ltd) and Brendon Dwyer (Beca).
The Young Engineer of the Year is awarded to a young engineer, aged 34 years or under who is judged to have made the greatest contribution as an engineer or leader through community involvement.
To complete the judging process our young engineers will have to complete one more step before the winner is announced at the gala dinner in November. On 1 October each finalist will make a ten minute presentation about the project they have worked on in front of their engineering peers and the judges. They will then face a further five minutes of questions in front of the audience before the judges decide the remaining 20 per cent of the finalists’ overall mark.
